QUADRICEPS FEMORIS

by Jul 31, 2021Fitness0 comments

The quadriceps femoris or quads are a group of muscles located in the front of the thigh. They’re called that way because the group is comprised of four different muscles. They are the vastus lateralis, the vastus medialis, the vastus intermedius and the rectus femoris. The three vastus muscles originates on the femur bone and attaches to the patella, or kneecap.

The Rectus Femoris  inserts into the hip bone then covers the three vastus muscles and also attaches to the kneecap.

One of the main functions of the quadriceps is to assist in extending the knee and it is best trained with heavy compound exercises such as squats or lunges, hex squats or sumo squats.

Just make sure you use good form because the quadriceps are prone to injuries including strains, tears and ruptures.

If you can’t do any of the just mentioned exercises or need to bring up a lagging muscle.

You can also add leg extensions as an isolation lift but it shouldn’t be a primary exercise for a quad development.

Supplements Overview

The last step in setting up your fitness diet is adding supplements.

Like I said in the beginning, supplements aren’t important at all.

In fact you could see great results without ever using one.

Also most supplements are completely hyped and overpriced.

Supplement brands literally spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year to sell you their new product.

That said there are a few supplements that I think makes sense to add to your diet.

The list is very short and all of them are pretty cheap.

Here’s what I’m talking about.

Back Muscles Explained

The back includes some of the most massive and functionally important muscles in your entire body.

Together they enable you to stand up straight, support your spine and pull, reach and or extend your arms.

Because the back is so big, It’s made up of multiple muscle groups that you should be familiar with.

Side effects on keto

There are six common side effects on a keto diet and in this video you will learn how to avoid them. Most people feel great on keto, full of energy and mental clarity but not in the first week. There is something called “keto flu” and in the first week most people experience it especially on days 2 to 5.
